What a rollercoaster it’s been!
In the next few months, we plan on strengthening our connection to Sheena Brockie, whom we met in the summer, and work with her to advertise the project. When we met Sheena, she said that once we had established the project and gained experience running it at different venues we could look into becoming a registered Plastic Free Jersey charity. This would be really exciting so we will continue to run the project at different places and hopefully in time we will achieve this goal. Another way in which we could publicise the project would be to potentially go on the radio.
Also, at the moment we are planning to do a beach clean and invite friends and family along. After the beach clean we will use all the plastic we have found to make gardening equipment and other creative displays. We’re looking forward to the event as it will be fantastic to get loved ones involved in the project and play our part in safeguarding Jersey’s beaches.
One big target would be to make more use of our resources and support system. For example, we have strong friendships with other teams and in the future, it would be great to work with them, such as in fundraisers. Another target would be to improve the communication between members and keep arranging regular Skype calls as these have been really useful in the past.
