The International Woman’s Academy (IWA) club at Yew Chung International School is a club run by students which works in collaboration with other IWA clubs around the world. Our club aims to work creatively to link with underprivileged communities to work collaboratively to empower woman and girls. Our Club is closely linked with the an orphanage in Ghana (Cross over international academy) which supports woman and children whom have escaped from human trafficking and slavery. The crossover orphanage has around 250 students and very limited resources, one of the issues at the orphanage is the electricity supply. We are currently in the process of fundraising to purchase solar panels so that the students at the orphanage are able to access basic electrical appliances such as lights, refrigerators as well as computers.
